Privacy policy
This policy describes how gsc-helper.com and the GSC Helper browser extension handle personal data. Last updated: 26 October 2026.
Who is responsible
SMC Internet UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Erich-Weinert-Straße 132, 10409 Berlin, Germany, is the controller for this website and for the extension. Contact: stephan@
This website
gsc-helper.com is a static website. It has no accounts and no analytics. The pages do not set cookies and do not load third-party scripts. The newsletter form below sends data to HubSpot only after you submit it.
When you open a page, the server that hosts the site may store the usual connection data in a log: IP address, date and time, the address you requested, the referring page, and the browser’s user agent. Those logs are used to deliver the site and to keep it secure (legitimate interest, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). They are kept only as long as needed for that purpose.
The contact form asks for your name, email address, a topic, an optional subject, and a message. Submitting it sends that information by email so we can reply. The message is not stored in a database on this website. The same applies if you write to us directly. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR when the message is about a request you make, and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR otherwise. We delete the correspondence when we no longer need it, unless we have to keep it for a legal reason.
Newsletter
The newsletter form on the homepage asks for your first name, an optional last name, and your email address. Submitting it sends those details from your browser to HubSpot, which stores them so we can email you about new GSC Helper features. The page does not load HubSpot’s tracking script and does not set HubSpot cookies. The legal basis is your consent, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can withdraw that consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in an email, or by writing to stephan@
The extension
GSC Helper runs in your browser. By default it reads the Google Search Console page you already have open, then aggregates and displays that data locally. Search Console data is not uploaded to our servers.
The extension stores settings on your device, such as options, saved filters, property sets, annotations, and index-history snapshots. That data stays in browser storage until you delete it or uninstall the extension. Exports you start are saved as files on your computer.
Optional Google account
You can use GSC Helper without connecting a Google account. If you choose Connect Google account, for example on the Google Search Console API page, the extension asks Google for access through OAuth.
- The requested Search Console scope is read-only (
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters.readonly). It is used to list properties you can access and to request Search Analytics data. - The extension may also read the email address of the connected Google account, so the interface can show which account is signed in.
- Those requests go from your browser directly to Google. GSC Helper does not send the API responses to our servers.
- The access token is stored in the extension on your device until you disconnect or it expires.
You can disconnect inside the extension, revoke access in your Google Account permissions, or uninstall the extension. Uninstalling removes the extension’s local data from that browser profile.
What we do not do
We do not sell Search Console data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not build a profile of your Search Console properties on our servers.
Install, uninstall, and Google’s public status feed
After installation, the extension opens a welcome page on searchanalyzer.io. When you uninstall, Chrome may request a short page on searchanalyzer.io. Those visits do not include your Search Console data. searchanalyzer.io has its own privacy policy.
If you sync Google Updates, the extension loads Google’s public Search status incidents from status.search.google.com. That request does not include your Search Console data.
Links to other sites
Pages link to the Chrome Web Store, LinkedIn, searchanalyzer.io, gscbigquery.com, and Google. Those sites process data under their own policies once you leave gsc-helper.com.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access, correction, deletion, or restriction, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where the processing is based on consent or a contract and is carried out by automated means, you can ask for a portable copy. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For this controller, that is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.
